The PRACTICE Fellowship is a three-stage program that supports the professional development of young architects, in accordance with the statutory objectives pursued by the Stefan Kurylowicz Foundation. The participants' task is to develop an interesting solution that will improve the quality of public space in a designated place in Poland. In previous years, competition projects were prepared for Warsaw, Katowice, Sosnowiec and Gdansk, among others. In the ninth edition of the program, participants will face the challenge of Poznan, specifically the area located between Grunwaldzka, Babimojska and Unia Europejska streets.
- Hörmann Poland supports activities that enable you to gain new professional experience, expand your competencies, and develop your career, and the PRACTICE Scholarship program is such a program. Its strength is its practical approach. Young architects not only create a project, but also have the opportunity to develop it further under the guidance of experienced mentors. We hope that the ninth edition, connected with Poznań, will be particularly inspiring for all those who dream of leaving a lasting mark on urban space,” says Agnieszka Olędzka, director of the Hörmann Poland Representative Office in Piaseczno and member of the PRAKTYKA Scholarship competition jury.
Recruitment for the next, ninth edition is currently underway. In the first stage, from among the submitted portfolios, the jury will select up to 18 participants who will take part in a stationary “Workshop with a Mentor” at the Faculty of Architecture at Poznan University of Technology. They will be conducted by: Ewa Pruszewicz-Sipinska (Mentor, WA PP) with the participation of lecturers and experts - Agata Gawlak (Dean, WA PP), Rainer Mahlamäki (SAFA), Piotr Marciniak (WA PP), Michał Włodarczyk (GARVEST), Piotr Sobczak (Architect of the City of Poznań), Ewa Kuryłowicz (Chairman of the Foundation Board, K&A); tutors: Maciej Janowski (WA PP), Łukasz Stępnik (WA PW) and Jan Rubel (WA PW, K&A). In the second stage, an expanded jury will select the three best solutions - individual or team - which will receive monthly scholarships of PLN 2,000 to develop preliminary architectural concepts. In the final stage, the author of the winning work will receive a stipend of PLN 10 thousand for the development and refinement of the project, i.e. the preparation of a cost estimate, work schedule, strategy for attracting partners and promotion plan. The entire project will be presented to the public in autumn 2025 in Poznan.
